Ômae Wataru

Omae was a constant presence in Toho films of the 1960s, appearing in numerous background roles as soldiers, technicians, and villagers. His face is familiar to eagle-eyed fans of the studio's Golden Age output.

Some of his more visible roles include a satellite station scientist in Dogora (1964) and an air traffic controller in The War of the Gargantuas (1966). He also appeared as Sakura, the first victim of the monsters in Space Amoeba (1970). He continued acting for a few years after the contract system collapsed, until around 1973.
